The home houses adults of all ages with mental health conditions. The home also cares for residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia and physical disabilities.

Facilities included en-suite bedrooms, several lounges, dining rooms and kitchenettes, communal bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets, a hairdressing room, a prayer room and communal gardens. We strive for everyone to feel at home, all family, friends, guests and most of all our Residents. We take the time to learn each individual’s wants, needs and preferences. The Hawthorns Care Centre (Barchester)
We saw staff used a range of assessment tools and kept clear records about how care was to be delivered and people who used the service had access to healthcare services and received ongoing healthcare support. They inspect care services to ensure they are supporting peoples wellbeing; appropriately setup; properly planning out care; are well led; and effectively staffed, each criteria is given a grade out of 6. Care services offered to people in housing-with-care facilities are regulated, subject to periodic inspections and awarded grades. Staff were supported to provide care to people who used the service through a range of mandatory and specialised training, supervision and appraisal. The registered manager and staff understood their responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards . Medicines were regularly reviewed and checks were carried out to ensure that people did not suffer any adverse effects. Training records were up to date and staff had regular supervision meetings and appraisals, which meant that staff were properly supported to provide care to people who used the service.
People who used the service received care and support that was person centred and individual to their needs. Care plans were reviewed regularly with changes being made when needed. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible. The provider had an effective recruitment and selection procedure in place and carried out relevant checks when they employed staff.

Divine Care Centre has been registered with the Care Quality Commission since June 2014. The CQC last updated their ratings of the care home in April 2018, giving it an overall rating of good. Care plans we looked at contained information which related to people’s needs and the level of support they required. Risk assessments were completed to work in conjunction with the care plans to keep people safe and maintain their independence.

Care plans and risk assessments were in place when required and daily records were up to date. Care plans were written in a person centred way and were reviewed regularly. People had access to food and drink throughout the day and we saw staff supported people to eat at meal times when required.
